FLIGHT PERFORMANCE CURVES

Fuel Flow & Airspeed vs RPM

Nautical Miles per Gallon vs RPM

Nautical Miles per Gallon vs Airspeed

Two nearly identical Velocity RG aircraft were flown at MSL altitudes of 3500, 7500 and 11,500 feet. The data was not corrected, but test conditions were chosen to be within 5 deg F and .20 inches Hg of standard. One aircraft, N90DV, is powered by an IO-360 A2B 200 hp Lycoming with a single electronic ignition and one magneto. Standard leaning procedures were used below 75%. The other, N211JP, has a DH160V4 160 hp DeltaHawk engine. The data points were held for a minimum of 5 minutes to achieve stability. Data was plotted several ways, and the most useful formats to pilots are presented above.
